Chinese brand Omoda expands UK network with Holdcroft and Greenhous

New Chinese brand Omoda has further expanded its network in the UK with the addition of Holdcroft Motor Group and Greenhous Group as its latest partners.

Greenhous will open its Omoda showroom in Shrewsbury this spring at its Featherbed Lane location alongside its used car, used van and Nissan businesses, while Holdcroft will launch in May from its Northwich site.

Omoda is a subsidiary of China’s Chery and has ambitious plans to outsell established European brands like Citroen, Mazda and Dacia within the next two years. Volume targets are to rapidly scale up to 16,000 sales this year and another 40,000 units in 2025.

It has already launched in the UK with dealer groups like Endeavour Automotive, Listers and Peter Vardy.

Omoda is planning to launch with an initial 50 locations, before scaling up to 100 before the end of 2024 and then 180 by 2026.

Ashley Passant, managing director for Greenhous Group car and van operations, said partnering with Omoda is a chance to offer something new to its fleet and retail customers, with a choice of both electric and petrol powertrains.

The first model to be available to customers will be the Omoda 5 SUV, with prices starting from £24,000.

Featuring a Euro NCAP five-star rating, the new SUV includes connectivity features like smart-phone integration, voice commands to operate vehicle functions, a 10.25-inch touch screen, remote start, and keyless entry.

In addition, all Omoda 5 models will be sold alongside a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty.

Holdcroft said its partnership with Omoda represents “an important step in Holdcroft’s future as its looks to bring more premium-quality products and services to customers at affordable prices”.

Luke Regan, Holdcroft franchise director, said: “Omoda represents how Holdcroft are always looking to the future and needs of our customers.

“Omoda brings high-tech style and performance, at affordable prices.

“This exciting brand has so much to offer the UK market and our Northwich premises are a great central location to showcase it.”
