Omoda strikes RAC partnership to offer comprehensive roadside assistance

Omoda is to enter the UK market in partnership with the RAC to offer a comprehensive roadside assistance package.

This package, provided for the petrol-powered Omoda 5 and the electric Omoda E5 models, is included free of charge throughout its seven-year warranty period, subject to regular servicing at approved Omoda and Jaecoo service centres.

Omoda said it has strategically aligned itself with several suppliers, aiming to build consumer trust, such as with DHL to streamline parts supply, Octopus Energy Group for preferential electric vehicle tariffs and home charging installations, and Thatcham Research to manage insurance needs.

This latest agreement with the RAC marks the first partnership between a Chinese car maker and the breakdown service.

Under this partnership, in the event of a breakdown that cannot be fixed on-site, Omoda vehicles will be transported to the nearest dealership to the customer’s home.

Omoda ‘s dealer network currently covers 75 locations across the UK, with plans to grow to 100 sites by year-end, ensuring broad access to sales and aftersales services.

Initially, all new Omoda vehicles will receive one year of free roadside assistance, which renews automatically with each annual service at an Omoda dealership, up to a total of seven years. This coverage also transfers if the vehicle changes ownership.

Victor Zhang, executive vice president of Omoda UK, said: “This partnership with the RAC is the latest pillar in our wider aftersales proposition. As a new entrant to the UK, we know we must earn the trust of the UK consumer, and the RAC’s reputation will help give customers peace of mind.”

RAC head of OEM roadside John Ellis, added: “We’re proud to partner with Omoda as it enters the UK market and give confidence to its new customers that they’ll be in safe hands in the unlikely event of a breakdown.”

Omoda’s new models feature appealing specifications and impressive safety ratings. The Omoda 5 is a fastback powered by a 187 bhp 1.6-litre turbocharged engine while the all-electric Omoda E5 offers a 150 kW motor and 61 kWh battery, delivering a WLTP range of 257 miles. Both vehicles have received a five-star EuroNCAP safety rating and include a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty as standard.
